Il connubio tra Ottoni e Percussioni è fortissimo: dalla musica classica al jazz, le percussioni aggiungono al suono degli ottoni energia e sonorità particolari. E’ per questo che il Gomalan Grass Quintet ha scelto un repertorio su misura che,  attraverso varie epoche e stili, esalta questa formazione allargata passando dalle Danze di J.B. Lully alla suite dal balletto Lo Schiaccianoci di P.I. Tchaikovski, dai Carmina Burana di Carl Orff, all’Uccello di Fuoco di Igor Stravinsky.

Nella Seconda parte i nuovi e travolgenti ritmi della “Big Band” di Count Basie, l’indiavolata Sing Sing Sing di Louis Prima, dalla brasiliana Masquenada alla musica di Astor Piazzolla, concludendo con Swing di John Williams.

The marriage between brass and percussion is very strong: percussion add energy and particular sonority to brass sound, from classic music to jazz. This is the reason why the Gomalan Brass Quintet chose a custom- made repertoire that highlights this extended ensemble/music group: from Lully’s Dances to the The Nutcracker suite by P.I. Tchaikovsky; from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff’s  to Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird.
In the second part the overwhelming sound of the Count Basie’s Big Band, Sing Sing Sing, Louis Prima’s stirring song; the Brazilian Mas que nada to Astor Piazzolla music, to end up with John Williams Swing.
